The BIG Plan

Been too busy lately planning for our big day. We searched high and low from Bugis to Hougang to Chinatown to Orchard to Causeway Point for THE ONE pair that fit us. We tried on almost all the bands on display, but somehow those that were nice and pretty, were not so comfortable or entirely satisfying. Wouldn't want to spend so much on something that you think is not the best, and a thought that there is ONE out there waiting for you. Finally, we managed to find a pair of wedding bands that fits us and our taste in Bishan. Since we were not in a hurry to collect the bands, our bands will take the longest possible time to custom make - 2 months. At least one thing is done.

Hotel down payment should be transacted today. Hopefully the card is already activated. We are very pleased with our banquet managers, and we appreciate them ceding to our requests. We thought that we did not request for much, but upon comparison with a few other couples, we actually got quite a bit more. Seems that our diplomatic approach; soft yet convincing and compelling bargaining worked over using hard bargaining skills. I guess a more professional and confident first impression makes a whole lot of difference. Choosing of themes and decorations would be few months before our big day, so nothing to worry for now. Another item done.

So since we are getting that hotel, the beer served is also kind of fixed as they are contracted suppliers. The barrel sizes have increased. Tried to taste the new beer as we never tried this brand before. Verdict is that the previous brand and the new one taste almost the same. We wanted to start choosing red wine for our big day. We were actually deciding between cabernet sauvignon and merlot. In the end, we decided to get cabernet sauvignon, but don’t know which brand to choose as there were countless brands available. I heard or Bordeaux before, but not sure of its quality. However, I am definite that these two brands are good – Wyndham Estate or Jacob’s Creek. Since Jacob’s Creek was on offer that day, why not. Chilled it and tasted it after dinner. A little sour + sweet + less bitter = jackpot. Fresh and good – 2005 cabernet sauvignon. Well, we’ll just have to wait and see what is on offer nearer to our big day.

Got a wedding in Meritus Mandarin to attend. Since I have to knock-off early because of World Environment Day (have to shut down computer at 5.30pm), we went to our boutique first to take a look at the custom made dresses. We actually have an appointment on Thursday, but since we were in that area, why not. Our designer happened to be around and we had a good chat with her. Well seems like teh will get to try some of the gown this Thursday, looking forward to it actually. They will only start drawing and designing the gown about 9 months before actual day. Making and fitting the dress will be way later. At least we have chosen the boutique. Sealing the deal may be later…….but I can’t wait for Thursday to see my beau in a wedding gown……..

Haha…..let’s see how it goes. Teh must be having sleepless nights.
